Self-Care For Mamas
After helping countless mamas and myself struggling with the balance of motherhood, I am here to guide you through the different kinds of self-care you can engage in!
If you are reading this, it’s probably because you are a little burnt out from motherhood and wanting the reassurance that taking care of you is needed! It doesn’t mean you are selfish and it doesn’t mean you don’t love your role as a mom or your loved ones. It means you are human and you sometimes get tired of taking care of crying babies or curious toddlers or cranky teens. And it’s okay to feel two polar opposites for the same situation. It’s okay to feel grateful for your family but also extremely overwhelmed by their needs.
Self-care is important because that’s how you fill up your cup. We need our cups to be full to be able to tackle on day to day events, stress, and our never ending to-do lists. If your cup is going on empty than you might be a little more frustrated, overwhelmed, exhausted, anxious, or sad. Some physical pain might be tension in your body, headaches, tightening of the jaw. These feelings can lead to fights with your kids, partner and loved ones.
Self-care has no right answer, it can be 30 minutes everyday to an hour every week to a few hours every week. It’s important to communicate your needs to your partner and make sure you both have some self-care time.
